$386 dollars spent on textbooks.

So it’s about $900 for textbooks in a year? Please, shoot me now.

I spent $540. They only get more expensive the longer you’re in school.

Do you ever buy used textbooks on Amazon, or other websites for used textbooks?  Or does your school have some sort of Facebook group or other message board as a way for students to sell or trade textbooks?

It definitely depends on the kinds of textbooks you’re buying, but in my six semesters at college so far, the only time I paid more than $300 was when I bought all my books at the bookstore first semester of freshman year.

Another money saving tip is to re-sell your old ones on Amazon (or to friends, or whatever) when you’re done with them.  That helps recoup the costs, especially since often you won’t need them again or can get the review you need from your notes.

I’m grateful to be well-connected and have tons of friends who are eager to dump their books on me. I’ve never paid for books, except for the ones for French. But you know what’s useful? Scout out the babes in your major and fuck a few. Upperclassmen have books to offer. (I kid, of course.)
